Some Des Moines residents Saturday appeared to ignore COVID-19 social distancing measures and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation to wear face masks during outings around the Court Avenue district downtown.
Even as new cases of COVID-19 and deaths from the virus continue to make daily headlines, Iowa lifted restrictions, which allowed for the reopening of restaurants, salons and barbershops and other businesses in 22 of the state’s hardest hit counties.
